Few should trust a report originating via The Sun. Here is something to keep you interested during this boring winter break without much of football action nevertheless.

Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard is said to be interested in signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Calciomercato via The Sun.

There is no denying that Chelsea need a high-quality striker during the upcoming summer transfer window. The situation with Olivier Giroud remains unclear and it’s too dangerous to expect young Tammy Abraham to shoulder all the responsibility going forward.

The same article states that Chelsea FC have been keeping tabs on Lyon striker Moussa Dembele but the west London side could sign Martinez as an alternative. The Blues would be willing to offer Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri plus cash in order to get a deal over the line for the impressive Argentina international.

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action with a home clash against bitter rivals Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Monday 17 February.
